Did you ever get a response on what type of wood was used on top?
Do you mind mentioning what color black you chose? It's such a beautiful, soft color, exactly what I'm looking for to do a piece of furniture myself.

I'd like to know the color black you used also, and specifically how you distressed it?? Thanks!! Love your pieces!! Peggy
Sorry I haven't looked at my blog for a long time :). I wouldn't know what kind of paint for sure because it's been so long. But usually when I need black I would buy the walmart Crayola kind but I don't know if they still make it. The wood on top is just pine 1 x4's, the cheaper grade. I would stagger the pieces on to try and make it look planked. I glued and screwed each piece and left the screws visible. I sanded with an angle grinder to add a lot of distressing to the lumber
That is gorgeous
I like the Satin finish instead of gloss
Thank you Judy! And Happy New Year. :-)
